Elegance by lee25 Elegance by lee25
Although I have enjoyed doing vectors, I sometimes miss the fluidity and expressiveness of traditional oil paint but I have'nt touched my oil paints since i started using digital. So I thought of doing a digital piece which maybe looked like a traditional piece in piece. Initialy for this piece i intended broad, chunky shapes to represent the figure, but as i set to work on it i kept getting drawn to filling in more detail.
So to keep the look of a traditional painting, i intentionaly kept parts of the image ie. the dress, and intentional let the skin tones show through where the edge of the dress is ( or maybe i got lazy). I would like to have taken this idea further but i just liked how it looked now and submitted it.

The image is referenced from an advert for Roberto Cavalli.

I think it is perfect the way it is, it looks so professional and even though the rest of the body isn't painted, it looks more finished than a lot of things I've seen. I respect you for being able to stop and not keep on adding and adding, it resulted in something so very appealing.
