This is a wallpaper im working on, I do intend on releasing a wallpaper size but there are some quality issues i have resolve on the buddha's edges before I submit it at a larger size.
I took this picture myself at Lan tau island (Hong Kong), its a Bronze Buddha that was built in the Tang Dynasty (618 A.D. to 907 A.D.) see here for other shots: [link]
Not sure about the swirly detail but I really wanted to include it. It's based on a sketch I did: [link]
Awesome work, I really like the swirly detail, I think it works well with the Buddha. I'm totally loving this recent stuff you've been coming out with.
1) I like the fact that you didn't center the shot. It adds to the overall quality of the photograph in my eyes.
2) To make your description more..."politically correct" instead of using A.D. (Anno Domini - which is Latin for "in the year of our Lord") which is religiously implied as the time after Christ's death. The more common usage is C.E. (Common Era) which is used for those who are offended by religious involvement. Just as B.C.E. (Before Common Era) is used instead of B.C. (Before Christ).
Thought I would just impart that to you. Use it or not, your choice, just thought I would help you avoid problems.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.

When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
